演講摘要:
This lecture will begin with an introduction to the characteristics, diverse applications, and principal production methods of powder materials, including gas atomization, PREP, and mechanical pulverization. Special attention will be given to how these techniques influence powder quality, which directly affects downstream performance in industrial processes. The discussion will then move to modern manufacturing technologies that rely heavily on powders, with a particular focus on additive manufacturing and thermal spray coatings. Additive manufacturing demonstrates unique advantages in fabricating complex geometries and high-melting-point materials that are challenging for conventional methods, while thermal spraying plays a vital role in providing wear resistance, corrosion protection, and thermal insulation for critical components in aerospace, energy, and defense industries. Finally, the talk will emphasize the essential integration of powder materials with advanced processes, highlighting their collective role as the three indispensable pillars of modern industry: powder materials, thermal spray processes, and additive manufacturing.
