題目:Atomic Structure Evolution of Nano-Precipitates in 7000 series aluminium alloys via Cs-STEM and 4D-STEM
透過Cs-STEM 和 4D-STEM解析7000系列鋁合金中奈米析出物顯微結構演化

內容摘要:
The study investigates the atomic-scale structures and phase transformation mechanisms of nanoscale precipitates in high-strength AA7050 (Al-Zn-Mg-Cu) alloys using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM). In-situ HRTEM observations reveal two distinct mechanisms during the precipitation sequence: the separated nucleation of η' precipitates following the dissolution of GP zones, and the in-situ nucleation of η precipitates directly developing from preexisting η' particles with similar hexagonal structures but different chemical compositions. HAADF-STEM analyses further demonstrate that η precipitates evolve via layer-by-layer growth, supported by the segregation of Zn, Cu, and Mg precursor atoms at the precipitate-matrix interfaces due to high lattice strain energy. Furthermore, under creep-age forming (CAF) conditions, dynamic interactions induce unique atomic lattice defects within the precipitates, including Type I and Type II elongated hexagonal defects related to local stacking disorder. Complex defects, such as Penrose tiling features, significantly alter the precipitate growth direction to form nearly spherical morphologies, while the discovery of an η14 phase clearly elucidates Zn/Cu diffusion paths along the matrix interfaces. Collectively, these atomic-level insights provide a comprehensive understanding of precipitate strengthening and defect evolution in advanced aluminum alloys.
