Stability evolution of photovoltaic materials: From perovskites to coordination nanosheets

內容摘要:
Further improvements in the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are critical for practical applications without unduly increasing production costs.1,2 Through interface engineering, I enhance the performance of PSCs by Si quantum dots.3 However, the poor stability of organic-inorganic perovskite crystals will limit commercial development. Therefore, I propose to replace perovskite crystals with coordination nanosheets (CONASHs),4 which are also composed of organic molecules and inorganic metal ions.5 The organic and inorganic parts within perovskite crystals are bonded by weaker van der Waals forces, and conversely, the CONASH is bonded by covalent bonding. Because of this strong bonding, the stability of the CONASH is expected to be superior to that of the perovskites. Recently, I developed an iron-based CONASH, and found that it has excellent self-powered photoreactivity. More importantly, I found the air-stability of this photodetector to be excellent. After two months in the air, its photocurrent is still 94% of the original value. This value is the best for all organic-inorganic hybrid materials at present.
