From Understanding to Innovation: Computationally Driven Design of Electronic and Energy Materials

內容摘要:
Understanding the fundamental properties of materials is essential for designing next-generation technologies with enhanced performance and efficiency. In this talk, I will demonstrate how first-principles calculations provide critical insights into the electronic, structural, and interfacial properties of materials, enabling rational design for advanced applications. Key topics include: (i) graphene-based low-dimensional materials, with a focus on their distinctive electronic behavior and chemical bonding; (ii) solid-state batteries, addressing challenges in interfacial stability; and (iii) thin-film CIGS solar cells, where computational modeling optimizes band structures and defect engineering to enhance photovoltaic efficiency. This computational framework can broadly apply across different material systems. By bridging fundamental understanding with computational design, this work is expected to guide experimental fabrication and accelerate innovation in materials science.
